    • Abstract: BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC - Former Barbados prime minister Owen Arthur says the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) stands to benefit from the new trading agreement negotiated with Europe. Delivering the first in a series of lectures at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination at the University of the West Indies (UWI) here, Arthur said that the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) would provide tangible benefits to the region, even though the Caribbean had not been able to get all it wanted during the negotiations.

African Integration Minister Amadou Kone said Ivory Coast was advising regional powerhouse Nigeria on how to seal an EPA, designed to replace preferential trade terms for former European colonies that expired last year.
