Invitation - Trade Defence Conference - 17 March 2016 - Possible change in the methodology to establish dumping in trade defence investigations concerning the People’s Republic of China

On 11 December 2016, certain provisions of the Accession Protocol to the WTO of the People's Republic of China expire. The European Commission is currently conducting an assessment of the possible impact of this expiry, including on the EU's anti-dumping legislation (Regulation (EC) N° 1225/2009 ).

The aim of the conference on 17 March 2016 is to collect stakeholders' input regarding the options being considered by the Commission on how to respond to the expiry of certain provisions of the Accession Protocol to the WTO of the People’s Republic of China.

EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström will make an opening statement, followed by a general presentation of the subject by Mr. Leopoldo Rubinacci, Director of the Trade Defence Services of the Commission. The stakeholder conference will take place while the public consultation launched on 10 February 2016 is under way. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide their contributions as well as participate in a Q &A.

The conference will take place in the THON Hotel Brussels City Centre, Avenue du Boulevard 17, 1210 Brussels - N.B. Conference entrance: Rue de Croisades, 1210 Brussels.
