In March 2012 a Civil Society Dialogue meeting was held to inform stakeholders of the developments regarding the work of the "High-Level Working Group on Jobs and Growth" that was launched in November 2011 to identify policies and measures to increase EU-US trade and investment to support mutually beneficial job creation, economic growth, and international competitiveness.

On 30 January 2012, the European Commission launched a broad public consultation to gather views from relevant stakeholders regarding the objectives and priorities of the "High-Level Working Group on Jobs and Growth". Another public consultation was launched later in the year to enable the gathering of detailed views relating to the future trade and economic relationship between the European Union and the United States with the aim of detailing and structuring the feedback of all relevant stakeholders. The results of both consultations have been taken into consideration in the Final Report of the EU-US High Level Working Group on Jobs and Growth.

The purpose of this meeting is to exchange views with civil society stakeholders on the results of the this report and discuss the initiative to launch negotiations for a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
