As part of its commitment under the GSP Regulation, the Commission published its second report for 2016-2017 to the European Parliament and the Council on the effects of the GSP. This included the GSP+ arrangement supporting sustainable development and good governance (January 2018).

The next report is scheduled for the end of this year. The report aims to assess the effects of the Generalised Scheme of Preferences during the years 2018-2019, with a focus on the performance of beneficiaries of the special incentive arrangement for sustainable development and good governance (GSP+), namely:

Armenia, Bolivia, Cabo Verde, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay (until 2018), the Philippines and Sri Lanka.

With regard to conventions related to:

  • Human Rights
  • Labour Rights
  • Environment
  • Good Governance

The report will also consider our enhanced engagement with GSP beneficiaries Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss with civil society:

  • Progress on the effective implementation of conventions
  • Any in-country cooperation / engagement with the countries concerned
  • Suggested areas to focus on in future GSP+ monitoring
