Background
This is the first ad hoc meeting of the Civil Society Dialogue on Fair Trade. It will review what Fair Trade is, how it works, in both the North and the South, and its role in terms of trade justice and development. It will facilitate an open discussion among Commission services, Fair Trade organisations, other non-governmental organisations and other actors in civil society on possible avenues to explore in a joint effort to support Fair Trade. It will set the scene for further dialogue on specific points.
