Background
The WE EMPOWER programme aims to support sustainable, inclusive and equitable economic growth by focusing on women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work in the public and private sectors of the G7 countries.

The European Union (EU) - Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a progressive trade agreement that upholds and promotes shared values of the European Union and Canada. This landmark agreement was signed on October 30, 2016 and entered into force provisionally on September 21, 2017.

Canada and the EU subsequently have agreed on a joint recommendation on Trade and Gender.
