EU and Mexico conclude sixth round of trade negotiations

The sixth round of trade negotiations with Mexico took place in Mexico City from 25 November to 1 December.

Over the course of the week the negotiating teams had talks on all issues, with progress made on key issues like market access for goods, services and public procurement as well as trade, the investment court system and sustainable development. Discussions also took place on energy and raw materials or trade and anti-corruption.

The Commission remains highly committed to reaching the ambitious goal of politically concluding a highly ambitious deal before the end of this year and together with Mexico will aim to solve the work that remains to be done in several areas.

As usual, a report on the results of each group will be published on the DG Trade website in the coming days.

The teams will next meet in Brussels in the week beginning 18 December.
