EU preferential exports to Singapore covered by statements on origin made out by registered exporters

As from 1 January 2023, importers in Singapore must claim the tariff preference by means of statements on origin made out by EU registered exporters, indicating their REX number and no longer by means of ‘origin declarations’ indicating an approved exporter authorisation number.

Singapore customs has accepted origin declarations made out by EU approved exporters during a transition period until 31 March 2023.

According to the news published by DG TAXUD, the coverage (but not the volumes) of 3 origin quotas for Singapore exports to the EU has been extended. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1927 is therefore in the process of being amended.
