Confidentiality and anonymous treatment

The Commission will treat the identity of the complainant and information submitted on a confidential basis upon a justified request. If you wish to treat any part of the complaint and supporting documents as confidential and or your identity as anonymous, please request this explicitly and give reasons for the request. The complaint or any documents, which contain confidential information, must be labelled 'Sensitive'.

Confidential information should be accompanied by a non-confidential summary thereof to the extent possible. The summary should permit a reasonable understanding of the substance of the information submitted in confidence. The non-confidential version of the complaint or any other documents, which do not contain confidential information, must be labelled 'Non-sensitive'.

In the absence of any indication about confidentiality of your identity or certain documents or information, those elements will be treated as non-confidential and may be shared with other interested parties.

All information collected through the use of the online-forms on this web page is treated as "Commission Use" in accordance with the security notice C(2019) 1903 of 5.3.2019 implementing Article 9(2) of Decision (EU, Euratom) 2015/4431 (Decision 2015/443). A reference is also made to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents.
